Review 5198: Ville in Italia, La Casa Di Zia Amalia

Review by Daniele_E 158 from Canada

3bed/2bath apartment in Positano, Campania

July 2011, 7 days

La Casa Di Zia Amalia is located in the city of Positano. In Positano, all the houses are close and built on narrow streets. This house is actually on the second floor of what appears to be a single building. There is a large terrace with a very nice view of the sea. If you look directly down from the terrace, you can see the terrace of the tenant on the first floor and the street below.

The house is close to shopping. You can take stairs to go the beach. The stairs go across between the buildings and are uneven. You have to wear good shoes and be in shape. Otherwise, you can take the bus.

Nearby Amenities

You can walk to small stores (butcher, grocery and fruits). There are a couple of restaurant close by.

The House/Apartment

The outside of the building looked really old but the inside of the house was well renovated. From the main street you have to get down about 30 steps to get to the villa. There was an apartment below us. It was pretty quiet.

You can view the property directly: La Casa di Zia Amalia.

There was large terrace that was facing the sea. It was private and large. There was enough room for two long chairs and a table with six chairs. We spent most of our time on the terrace.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was in good shape and comfortable. There was enough room for everyone. The house was very clean.

The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were nice. There was two bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean and recently renovated.

The kitchen was well stocked and there was enough pans and dishes. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The appliances were recent.

Problems or Bonuses

The key holder welcomed us with a nice fruit basket and the kitchen was stocked with basics (coffee, tea, salt, pepper, herbs and oil).

The view was really amazing.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We dealt with the agency by email. All was fine. The key-holder spoke English well. That was nice. I found that the description was accurate.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would definitely recommend this villa. However, there is a lot of stairs, be prepared.
