1bed/1bath apartment between Piazza Navona & the Tiber, Rome WhenOctober 2011, 2 nights LocationThe apartment is centrally located in Rome. A beautiful building on a bustling narrow street, it was quiet in the evening. It was approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to the Vatican, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona. Nearby AmenitiesThe owner recommended a coffee shop just a couple doors down the street which had excellent coffee and pastries. A variety of restaurants were close by. We were only there for two nights, so we didn't need groceries. The House/ApartmentThe building is historical and the apartment has wooden beam ceilings. We were three women friends staying in this one bedroom apartment, and the layout worked very well for us. We used the hallway bed, living room bed, and bedroom, so we all had some privacy. There are other apartments in the building but it was a quiet building. The elevator was helpful for our luggage. GardenThe apartment advertised a courtyard and rooftop terrace, but we didn't make use of these. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was clean and tidy. The living room/dining room combination provided good seating for everyone with a comfortable sofa and a spacious table to review maps, brochures, etc. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe main bedroom was lovely, all beds were comfortable, with soft linens. There was lots of hot water for showers for all three of us. KitchenThe kitchen was small and we didn't need to use it, other than making coffee, but had everything you might need for basic cooking. Problems or BonusesThe owner is friendly, welcoming and helpful. She responded quickly to emails, provided suggestions, had various books and brochures available on site, and arranged the taxi to the airport for us. We particularly appreciated being able to drop off baggage at 9:00am so we could continue on and explore Rome. Agency and Representatives (and price)Owner is extremely helpful and friendly, and spoke very good English. The price was €400 for the two nights, including cleaning (no hidden extra costs). We were pleased to find this apartment that provided three separate sleeping spaces and was so centrally located. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Absolutely! Things to do in this areaCaffe Banchi Vecchi is the nearby coffee shop. We also enjoyed Ditirambo for cacio e pepe, crackling suckling pig and roast pork in Campo dei Fiori, Aristocampo for paninis in Campo dei Fiori, and we took a taxi to Perilli's for their carbonara. Wish we had more time! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
