apartments in the Oltrarno, Florence WhenOctober 2011, 4 nights LocationThe Filippo Lippi apartment is on a residential street in the Oltrarno neighbourhood. Nearby AmenitiesThe bakery and grocery stores were within a five minute walk. The House/ApartmentThe building is historical with arched ceilings. Residenza Il Carmine has a number of other apartments accessed from a central courtyard, but this apartment is accessed directly from the street. GardenWe had access to the garden/courtyard area and often sat there in the evening after supper. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was lovely and in good condition. The apartment was clean and tidy throughout. The living room had several chairs as well as two day beds. The dining table seated four. Bedrooms/BathroomsAll of the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. We were three women friends traveling together, so the owners set up the main bedroom as two twin beds and then we also made use of one of the day beds in the living room. KitchenThe kitchen/dining/living room combination was spacious and we had breakfast at the apartment each day. There was a good supply of dishes and utensils and we enjoyed being able to make coffee, have breakfast and go over our plans for the day. Problems or BonusesWe were delighted with the provisions that were provided for us, including breads, crackers, cheese, yogurt, milk, fruit, etc. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owners are very friendly and helpful. They responded quickly to our emails and spoke very good English. The price was exceptional, with a rate of €109 per night, and no additional charges. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Absolutely! Wonderful owners, lovely apartment, great price, great location - we loved coming back to our refuge each evening. Things to do in this areaThe bakery that was just a few minutes walk was a daily highlight - sadly I didn't note the name. The restaurant Cavolo Nero is just two or three doors down from this apartment and we had an exceptional meal there in their magical garden room. We also went to Trattoria Casalinga twice, about a 10 minute walk to the Santo Spirito area. Great pasta at a great price at a lively, bustling restaurant.
