Review 5278: Sleep in Italy, Banchi Vecchi

Review by In Vermont from US

1bed/1bath apartment near Piazza Navona, Rome

May 9 - May 12, 4 days

This is a lovely apartment in a most convenient area of Rome. It is within walking distance of many sites (Pantheon, piazza Navona, the Vatican, etc.). It is in a busy area and noisy when windows are open. There is air conditioning, so closing windows solves that problem. The apartment was spotlessly clean and adequately furnished. The kitchen is very basic, probably adequate for lunch, or a light meal. We had breakfast each morning, and wine and cheese, but ate all meals out. The bathroom is off the bedroom, small but very nice. The owner Alesandra, was charming and perfectly willing to point out restaurants, etc.

Nearby Amenities

There was a bakery right across the street and a supermarket around the corner. We ate at two restaurants just a couple of blocks away that were very good.

The House/Apartment

This is an old building recently renovated with a lift. Although the apartment is on the first floor, it was nice to have the lift at the end of a long day.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was spare, but in good condition. There was a table with four chairs, and a sofa.

The bed was very comfortable.

There seemed to be plenty of pots, dishes, etc. No dishwasher or oven, but a two burner cook-top microwave, and toaster. The refrigerator was under the counter, and there was a washing machine.

Problems or Bonuses

The apartment has a TV and WiFi.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency seemed efficient. Our only contact was by email. The owner was delightful. She spoke English well and lives next door.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

A great apartment in a very good location.
