2bed/1bath apartment in Naples, Campania WhenApril 30 to May 1st 2012, 2 days LocationThe building housed three separate rental units. The address of the property was very misleading. The street itself is divided into two separate areas of Naples. We spent nearly four hours asking directions for that street until one kind soul told us to follow them to the address. The only parking near the building was on an extremely narrow street. After two night's parking, we discovered severe damage to our rental car, including a hole in the driver's door. We heard indirectly that a garbage truck had scraped along the side of our car during the night. Nearby AmenitiesCoffee and restaurants were available nearby within walking distance. However, groceries were not in walking distance. The House/ApartmentThe apartment was in good shape. It was clean and fairly stocked with cooking utensils. Upon our arrival, we learned that the owner was in Berlin and instead, we were welcomed by two teenage girls. Their attitude was surly at best. All three of us are in our eighties and no assistance was offered to help with our luggage up two flights of stairs. GardenNo outside sitting area, nor was there a pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in good shape and the apartment was clean. Sufficient chairs were provided. Bedrooms/BathroomsBathrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. KitchenThe kitchen was usable for cooking full meals. However, the "provided" breakfast was represented by minimal items left for our consumption. Problems or BonusesOther than the damaged car, due to the very narrow parking street, no. After emailing back and forth with the owner, he told us that we had the apartment and to wire the funds to him (at a bank cost of $50.) Then four hours later, he advised me that the apartment had been rented for the initial rental day to someone else. Consequently, our itinerary had to be revised elsewhere. I consider this confirmation and subsequent cancellation to be very unprofessional. Agency and Representatives (and price)Our greeters did not speak English. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I definitely would not stay here again, if only for the poor parking available.
