1bed/1bath apartment in Positano, Campania WhenApril 6-12, 2003, one week ReviewWe just returned from 2 weeks in Italy. We rented an apartment from Summer in Italy for one week. The apartment was in Fornillo which is the quieter end of Positano high up away from the beach. It was very clean & quite spacious. A plus was that there was heating in the bedroom. We were there during an unexpected cold spell & used the heat a lot. In addition to the base price, we were charged 100 euro to cover cleaning & use of facilities (standard cost for everyone using the apartment - includes all heating). You can find out more about the apartment on the web site. One criticism I have is the very poorly equipped kitchen. One of the reasons we rented an apartment was of course, to do our own cooking & beyond the very basic stuff we really couldn't. The kitchenware was what you might take camping (if even that good). The terrace was large but the deck furniture was also inadequate for all but a short stay. I did express my concerns about these inadequacies to Lucca when I returned home (for future renters) and he was most gracious. I trust they will look into this because with just a little extra thought this apartment could be exceedingly nice. I think Summer in Italy handled everything quite professionally & we did grow quite fond of the apartment & plan to rent again in other parts of italy. There was a good grocery store just down the steps from us & I became a real regular shopping in the morning for fresh bread & cheese etc. It was great. This was our first time renting an apartment although our 3rd in Italy. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
