1bed/1bath house in Guagnano (near Lecce), Puglia WhenMay 2012, 12 days LocationThe house is located in the center of the village of Guagnano, in the heart of the negroamaro wine-making area of Puglia. Guagnano is a small village of about 5,000 people perfect for visiting wine-producers in the Salento. Nearby AmenitiesEverything in the village is walking distance: multiple fruit and vegetable vendors, supermarkets, coffee bars, even a couple of restaurants. The House/ApartmentThe building is in excellent shape: clean, solidly built, and with modern amenities. The house was peaceful even though the bedroom is in the front. The street that runs in front of the house is one-way and not noisy. Next to the bedroom in the front is a sitting/reading room. After that is the dining room and the kitchen and bathroom are in the back. There is also a patio in the back, perfect for meals or drinks in warm weather. GardenThe back patio is private, clean, and comfortable. There are also stairs to the rooftop lookout area. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture is in excellent shape and the house is very clean. There are plenty of chairs and all the areas are very comfortable. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. There are also two pullout beds for extra people. The bathroom was big enough and the shower perfect: clean and with enough space. KitchenThe kitchen is great: usable and fully equipped. There are enough pots, pans, and dishes to cook a dinner for several people. It feels like a place where someone actually lives. Problems or BonusesIt was a great surprise to find this place in the middle of a village that is not touristy at all! I cannot wait to go back! Agency and Representatives (and price)Fabio, the owner of the agency, responds to emails very quickly and speaks perfect English. He is very professional and knows a great deal about the area. He provided excellent suggestions for place to visit and things to do. He was a joy to deal with! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I recommend this rental whole-heartedly! Things to do in this areaThere are five great wineries in and around the village, so this is the perfect location for wine-lovers. There is also a great eatery in the village (L'Orecchietta) where we ate literally twice a day every day: home-made, super tasty food!
