2bed/1bath apartment in Sorrento, Campania WhenMay 2012, 7 days LocationCould not have asked for a better location. The apartment was in an older villa on a bluff overlooking the marina and the Bay of Naples, with Mt Vesuvius in the background. There is adequate parking, but we traveled by train. To give one an idea of this location, we saw tourists taking pictures of the villa and its main veranda. We don't see that very often. Nearby AmenitiesThe villa is within walking distance of the train and bus stations, restaurants, grocery, shopping, and the marina. The House/ApartmentThis is a building over 100 years old. It has been scrupulously kept up to date. The apartment was one of at least five on several levels. The apartment has a full kitchen, full bath, living room, and bedroom. There is a large veranda running the length of the apartment accessible from the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. We had breakfast daily on the veranda, and also several evening meals there. GardenNo garden, but a private veranda for us. There is also a very large veranda with pool for public use. Plenty of chairs, plenty of space. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furnishings were all in good condition. The apartment was clean with plenty of towels and pillows. Plenty of chairs inside and outside. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bedroom has French doors opening onto the veranda. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was fine for two, it would be very cozy for four, with one couple using the fold out bed in the living room. KitchenThe apartment has a full kitchen with an abundance of pots, pans, coffee makers, fridge, and an electric dishwasher. We cooked at least four meals for four with no problem. Problems or BonusesAndrea, the manager, is eager and very helpful. He has a boat excursion to Capri that is not to be missed. It is a small boat for 10 and includes swimming in the Mediterranean in addition to the site seeing. This was one of our top highlights. Agency and Representatives (and price)Summer in Italy was very helpful. Emails were clear and precise, no surprises. The pictures accurately reflect the apartment. Actually, no picture can truly do justice to this villa. It is pricey, but it was definitely worth it, for the location and the amenities. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would go there tomorrow if offered! We had a wonderful time and have indelible memories of Villa Azzurra E. No qualifications on this recommendation.
