Review 534: Papavero Rentals, Bella

Review by Diane4588 from Philadelphia

2bed/2bath apartment near Piazza Spagna, Rome

April, 2003, 4 nights

This was a last minute trip - a long weekend in Rome to take advantage of the low airfare. I emailed Papavero Rentals and Patrice was able to find a great apartment for 4 nights. Then we changed plans and another couple joined us, Patrice was unflinched and got us a great 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment.

It was very charming and spacious, and the location could not have been better. We wanted to spend a day outside of Rome and we wanted to go to a local festival but Patrice suggested going to Orvieto first then backtracking and spending the afternoon at the festival before returning to Rome. How right she was, a half day at the festival was enough and the extra treat of going to Orvieto in the morning was just divine. Such a nice contrast from the city. Patrice organized the driver, the intinerary and also another day trip to Tivoli Gardens. She had a driver pick us up at the airport and then made sure he was at our apartment the morning of our departure to head on home.

The apartment was very sweet, a second story walk up, it was light and airy and I felt the rooms were spacious. The owner lives next door which was nice to know even though we never needed her.

This company is very organized, we recieved a nice travel packet of information with our voucher, she even gave us a cell phone at no charge, since we were concerned about the war. We had the best time and look forward to returning to Italy for a longer period of time. What a nice way to chase away the winter blues!

The restaurant Da Bolognese was recommended by Papavero Rentals. We spent our last night there and it was a great finale to a wonderful whirlwind weekend in Rome. We even took their suggested menu items and they were a hit. Da Bolognese serves food from Bologna, and is located on the Palazzo de Popolo

This apartment was so central, close to everything. We just loved its location, so much to do.
