1bed/1bath apartment on Campo dei Fiori, Rome WhenMay 2012, 1 week LocationLocation is the big plus but also the big minus. This apartment is right on the Campo dei Fiori, next door to the wonderful little Antica Norcerina. The views from the living room windows are very entertaining but the noise is a big problem. In the bedroom, with the windows closed, you can get some peace but never in the living room/eating area. The Campo is active from very early in the morning until very late at night and the noise really started to annoy us after a few days. As far a location for walking everywhere you want to go: couldn't be better! Nearby AmenitiesWe walked everywhere -- from the Vatican to Trastevere to Popolo to Monti, we were able to walk easily. The Bar Farnese is a fabulous spot for coffee just off the Campo. Groceries? just look out the windows. The House/ApartmentThere are about six to eight apartments in the building, which is in good shape in an old Roman way. GardenNo outside sitting area but there is the Campo. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture is from every conceivable style -- a total hodgepodge, but the bed is very comfortable. I wouldn't imagine having more than two people in this apartment would work very well -- the second bed is really in a little hallway. It was quite clean and a cleaning person came once in the middle of our stay at no charge to us. Couch and dining chairs were fine. Bedrooms/BathroomsBathroom worked great. Good shower/bath tub. (The web site says "hot tub" but I think they just mean a regular bath tub. KitchenI did cook a bit in the kitchen. It wasn't deluxe but there was everything I needed to make a simple meal. Problems or BonusesBiggest surprise was the round the clock noise level. Agency and Representatives (and price)People who rent the apartment were super nice and very helpful. They arranged for transportation for us from the airport and let us check in very early since there hadn't been anyone in there that day. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would not stay there again. Just too noisy! (we are in our early 60's and maybe less tolerant than most.)
