apartments in Montepulciano, Tuscany South WhenAugust 2012, 1 week LocationFour of us stayed at Politian Apartments in August 2012. The apartment was private and very comfortable. The location is ideal as a base for exploring Montepulciano and the surrounding countryside. Nearby AmenitiesGood restaurants within five minutes, food and other supplies also available within five minutes. Good morning coffee at several locations again within five minutes walk. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is spacious, with a competent set of equipment in the kitchen. Both double bedrooms are of generous size, with shuttered windows offering views over the town and surrounds. A small private terrace is at the rear of the apartment; ideal for a glass of prosecco at the end of the day. Building has been in the family since late 19th C. In good condition. All four apartments spread across the building. Generally peaceful and quiet. GardenA private terrace accessed from the rear of the apartment. Sitting for four. No pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture, fittings, kitchen utensils, towels and bedding all good quality and clean. Apartment was clean when we commenced our stay. Dining setting for six. Bedrooms/BathroomsBedrooms were large, with some period furnishings. Beds were sound and the linen bedding was appreciated. The single bathroom was clean and spacious. KitchenKitchen was quite usuable and we prpeared various meals for four. Adequate supply of pots and utensils of good quality. Single stove with gas burners and oven. Problems or BonusesPleasant suprise was the size of the apartment, roomy and spacious. High summer whilst we were there, but shutters and windows allowed for air flow. Location is ideal. Agency and Representatives (and price)The landlord (and his sister) were most accommodating, pleasant and easy to deal with. Both spoke good English. The web site gave a fair and accurate portrayal of the apartment. Giacomo (the landlord) also provides helpful and accurate information regarding transport and the township at the apartment web site. The rate was most reasonable for four adults. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Strongly recommend to like minded semi independent travelers. We will certainly stay there again. Things to do in this areaWalked the town repeatedly, enjoyed the views down and across the Tuscan landscape. Ate well and drank fine vino nobile. We also walked to Montechiello on a hot day, and returned by taxi. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
