Review 5409: Owner, Casina di Rosa

Review by Dan from Canada

1bed/1bath house in Civitella Marittima, Tuscany West

August 2012, 1 week

Located in a small, medieval village of 200 people about 45 minutes south of Siena.

Nearby Amenities

Two minutes away from a bakery, butcher's shop and general store.

Also two minutes away from a wonderful restaurant that we ate at twice in the week we were there.

The House/Apartment

A very nice one bedroom house. Its an older building that fits into the village but feels very nice inside. Kitchen was recently renovated and is lovely. Very comfortable place for a couple to stay.

No garden as it is located in a village.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Very nice kitchen and bedroom/sitting area. Extremely clean and well taken care of.

Everything was very comfortable. Bathroom was small but that was not unexpected in Italy.

Kitchen is large and very usable. We didn't cook meals other than breakfast but we easily could have.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We booked directly with the owners and the experience was very good. Price was great also.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes - highly recommended. This is a great base for exploring Southern Tuscany.

The only people I wouldn't recommend this to would be:

  • Those who wanted to spend a lot of time in Florence/Chianti/Pisa/Lucca, as they would be better advised to stay further north.
  • Those who want a garden or countryside to spend time in where they are staying, as this is located in the heart of a village.

Things to do in this area

Lots to explore: Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza, Montalcino and many more...
