2bed/1bath apartment near the Uffizi, Florence

When

October 2012, 5 nights

Location

The apartment is in a wonderful central location in Florence. It's on Via Neri, a block behind the Uffizi. There's very little car traffic on the street, but it's in a busy location. We loved being so close to everything.

Nearby Amenities

There are several food shops and restaurants on the same block as the apartment building. There's a pizzeria next door, a sandwich shop across the street, a produce shop a few doors down ... really more places than you can name.

The House/Apartment

The building is historical and in excellent condition. The apartment is quite peaceful. We did hear some noise from the street one night, and we also heard the person above us walking around a few times, but for the most part, it was very quiet. There were a dozen or so apartment in the same building. This apartment was on the third floor.

When you enter the apartment, you come into a long hallway. At one end of the hall is a living room/kitchen area. The bathroom is also on that end. Down the other end of the hallway are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and is a nice size. The other bedroom is tiny and contains just a twin bed.

Garden

There is no outside sitting area.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture is very comfortable, and the apartment was also very clean and tidy.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Both beds were comfortable. The bathroom is small but worked fine for us.

Kitchen

The kitchen is fine for basic cooking. There is no oven and there is only a two-burner cook-top. We really had no plans to do major cooking so we were fine with the kitchen.

Problems or Bonuses

Peter is obviously a very organized guy. He made sure that we not only knew our way around the apartment, he even made sure we knew what do to if the power should go out, how to turn off the water, etc. There was even a book with pictures showing all these things! We didn't need to use any of this information, but it was nice to know just in case.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Peter was great during the booking process. He answered all our questions and provided detailed information about getting to the apartment. Once we were there, he met us and provided us with lots of great information. He even emailed us during our stay to make sure everything was going well. Can't say enough about him.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We would absolutely stay there again. We loved the location - it was very comfortable - and the owner was a delight to work with.

Things to do in this area

Florence is just right outside your door. Nothing else to say.
