1bed/1bath apartment in Acciaroli, Campania WhenApril 9th - 16th, 2003, 7 days LocationThe apartment is at the side of the coast road but surrounded by its own walls it is private, peaceful and tranquil. It is about 1 mile to the nearest village but only 5 minutes walk from the beach. The area is gorgeous - lovely beach, crystal water and stunning mountain scenery. Nearby AmenitiesNearest shops etc in Acciaroli - we walked but also drove when we got much shopping. You need a car really. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is part of a converted farmhouse/olive oil mill. There were about 6 other apartments but we were the only ones there part of the time. It was comfortable and well equipped and far exceeded our expectations. We had a balcony on the bedroom and there is another at the front overlooking the walled garden. GardenThe gardens are shared with others but really spacious. A walled garden with a fountain, a grassy area with barbeque gear, tables and chairs and space to play spread under lemon and medlar trees. Also a small pool with sun loungers and sun decks with more loungers and parasols. Beautiful, sunny and quiet with a view of the sea. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasMore furniture and bedding, towels and equipment than we needed!! Bedrooms/BathroomsBedrooms and bathrooms were great. The bedroom was like home with wood furniture. KitchenVery good kitchen, 4 burners and an oven and italian style pots, pans and coffee makers. Problems or BonusesThe people are so friendly giving good advice for trips and restaurants and presents from the trees in the garden. The local traditions in Holy Week are amazing and we were made to feel part of it. Agency and Representatives (and price)Best website we've ever used. A dream to use with instant booking facility and it is easy to see prices and availability. We had excllent service and they have contacted us since to check we had good service. The accommodation was better than the description. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes - we plan to go back and have recommended it to our friends. I would probably avoid high season when it is more crowded. If you expect everyone to speak English and provide bland international food it is not for you! Things to do in this areaThe whole Cilento area was a joy to explore, national park, beaches, ancient greek temples, beautiful churches, hill top villages and caves. We liked all the restaurants but the best was 'old America' by the harbour in Acciaroli where the owner(who was just closing) said he could prepare something simple - antipasta of grilled vegetables, swordfish in lemon and fresh pineapple - sensational.
