3bed/2bath apartment in Montepulciano, Tuscany South

When

18-31 May 2013, 2 weeks

Location

The apartment is on the first floor (European) of an old building on the main street of Montepulciano. It's about 50 metres from the main entrance, Porto il prato. The area is busy but the apartment is quiet.

Nearby Amenities

The apartment is surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops, the location is perfect. It's about a five minute walk to a supermarket and a further five minutes to the bus station.

The House/Apartment

There is one other apartment on the same floor and one on the entrance floor. You enter via huge double doors off the main street, then through a stone-flagged area and up a double flight of shallow stairs. Very easy.

Garden

There is no outside sitting area but the views from two of the bedrooms and the living room are stunning.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is one sofa and three armchairs, adequate lighting and a dining table for six people.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

There are three bedrooms; two doubles and one twin. The beds were very comfortable and the doubles were king-size (European). One double and the twin had views over the countryside, the other double was rather dark as it looked over a very narrow neighboring street. All three rooms were very pleasant and comfortable.

There is a bathroom and a shower room. The bathroom is lovely with a bath and a handset over. The toilet is in an alcove along with a bidet, very well designed.

The shower room has a small shower cubicle, a bidet, toilet and basin.

Kitchen

It would be perfectly possible to cook full meals is the kitchen although we didn't choose to do so. There is adequate cooking equipment. There is no dishwasher or washing machine.

Problems or Bonuses

The owner's parents met us on arrival and were delightful. They gave us some of their home produced jam and olive oil which was delicious and much appreciated.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owner was very prompt in responding to any emails and his English is excellent.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would definitely stay here again if I go to Montepulciano and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It's a beautiful apartment although probably not as luxurious as some in terms of dishwasher/washing machine. This was of no concern to me and there is a launderette in Montepulciano if you need to do any washing.

The apartment is excellent value for money in fact the only problem with doing this glowing review is that I probably won't be able to book it again when I want to!

Things to do in this area

I was in Montepulciano for two weeks at the Il Sasso language school.
