Review 5588: Le Manzinaie, Apartment

Review by John23Texas from TX

apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South

May 26, 2013 to May 31, 2013

My wife and I selected Le Manzinaie for our five night stay in Tuscany based on outstanding reviews. We didnít see any negative comments and were wondering whether our stay could live up to the expectations. The answer was yes.

The location of Le Manzinaie is perfect for exploring Tuscany. It is located within a short drive to Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, and other beautiful cities to explore. It is also close to Umbria, and we had a wonderful visit in Assisi. It is near major highways, which makes it very easy to travel to some of the further sights including Florence and Siena. And, Le Manzinaie is very easy to access, with no narrow, unpaved, and windy/hilly roads, and we felt very comfortable returning to it after dark.

We arrived on a Sunday and were worried about having food for the next morning, since stores were closed on Sunday. But Marzia made sure our fridge was stocked with milk, eggs, ham, and other foods, plus a bottle of wine. Marzia, Fiore, and Alice made us feel part of their family from the start and gave us helpful maps, and a list of sights of interest, restaurants, etc., to make sure we had everything we needed to explore Tuscany. Every morning when we left our apartment, one or all of them were there to wish us a good morning and ask if there was anything they could do for us. The apartment was excellent, clean, comfortable and well stocked. One of the highlights of our visit was a dinner that Marzia, Fiore, and Alice hosted for the people staying in their farmhouse. The home cooked meal was one of the best we had during our vacation, and it was great getting to better know everyone, and meet the other visitors. We highly recommend Le Manzinaie to anyone visiting Tuscany. You will have a great place to stay, that is well located for seeing the sights, and will feel from the time you arrive until you leave that Marzia, Fiore, and Alice are welcoming you into their home.
