Review 5614: Domus International, Via Paola (PAU)

Review by Rosemarie DAmico from Canada

1bed/1bath apartment near Castel Sant'Angelo, Rome

August 4-19, 2013, 2 weeks

The apartment was centrally located in Rome, right next to the river Tiber, across the Tiber from Castel Sant'Angelo. The location was perfect, within walking distance of all attractions. The area was very nice.

Nearby Amenities

Everything was within walking distance; in fact, for the two weeks we were in Rome, we never took a bus, a subway or a taxi. There were two or three full-service grocery stores within two blocks; Campo dei Fiori (fresh food, outdoor market) was a 15 minute walk. Restaurants abound in this area; you hardly had to walk half a block to find good food!

The House/Apartment

The building was apparently 13th or 14th Century. The apartment was very private and quiet, and beautifully furnished in a French provincial style. The owner of the apartment has exquisite taste and the apartment had a very luxurious feel. The ceilings were more than 20 feet high, there were lots of windows, and air conditioning when it got too hot.

You can view the property directly: Via Paola.

There was a secluded patio, overgrown with beautiful flowers and plants where we could enjoy our morning coffee or our evening dinner.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was absolutely first class and extremely comfortable. We were only two people, but the living room had ample seating, including a desk which was nice to have to work on the computer. The apartment was very clean.

The bedroom was extremely comfortable, with a large, queen-size bed, a wardrobe for storing clothes, two large windows and two chairs.

The kitchen was fully functional with a gas-range, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, dish washer. Lots of dishes, cutlery, wine glasses, etc. We cooked breakfast and dinner every day in the apartment and were very satisfied with the kitchen. There was a table that could seat four people in the kitchen.

Problems or Bonuses

No surprises.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Domus International are very professional. We have dealt with them now for two trips and are very pleased with their service. Paola managed all of our arrangements, including pick up at the airport and return transportation. Stefano met us at the apartment and met us on our last day. First class!

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We would definitely stay here again and yes we would highly recommend this property.
