Vacation rentals in Italy (villas, farms, estates, agriturismo, apartments)
Review 5675: Owner, Il Gelsomino di Isia (#1147753)
2bed/1bath apartment in Orvieto, Umbria
November 23-30, 2013, 1 week
This two bedroom apartment is located in the central district of Orvieto, Italy. It is an easy walk to all areas of Orvieto. There are stores nearby and restaurants too. The twice weekly public market is steps away. You can see the side of the beautiful Duomo from the bedroom window.
All amenities are a walk away.
The apartment is located on a quiet, beautiful vicolo (alley) in the historic center of Orvieto. The owner lives next door, but the apartment is a three level one with no one above you.
No garden. There is a very small balcony off the master bedroom.
The apartment is spotless. The kitchen is new with all appliances. There is a dining table in the living room. The furniture in the bedrooms is beautiful dark wood with marble tops.
Very comfortable bed with nice linens. The bathroom is small but is very clean. We had no problems with it.
The kitchen is great. Beautiful gas stove and oven. The refrigerator is large with a good sized freezer. There is also a toaster and a microwave.
Problems or Bonuses
The best surprise was our lovely landlord Daniela and her adorable daughter Eleanora. They were kind and caring and always helpful. They alone make this an apartment to stay at. I cannot say enough about their hospitality.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
I booked this through Homeaway and dealt with Daniela through emails. She was quick to answer questions and everything ran very smoothly. Since we rented the apartment in late November, it was more that reasonable. We paid about $335 for the week.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
I would definitely recommend this apartment. There are two flights of marble stairs, so people need to realize this before rental. Daniela is the real reason I would encourage people to rent this apartment. Her hospitality was amazing.
Things to do in this area
We enjoyed exploring all the city of Orvieto had to offer. Great food, lovely people, beautiful Duomo, and amazing vistas.
