Vacation rentals in Italy (villas, farms, estates, agriturismo, apartments)
Review 5684: Residenza Giubbonari, Green Apartment
2bed/2bath apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome
January, 2014, 5 Days
The perfect location off Campo dei Fiori is two blocks from bus stops and within walking distance to the major attractions. Located in an apartment building where Cristina has several rental units of various sizes alongside permanent residents.
Several bakeries and a grocery store are very close by as are the cafes and restaurants on Campo dei Fiori and in the Jewish Ghetto.
The apartment, as is the building, is very clean and well maintained but the elevator is small and slow but works fine. My guess is that there are ten apartments in the building. The Green apartment is on the fourth floor (fifth floor in the US) and the elevator opens with a short flight of stairs down to the apartment. There is a large room facing the street that serves as a sitting and dining area. The sitting area has a comfortable sofa and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. The bedrooms are in the back of the apartment so you hear no street noise.
There is no outside sitting area.
The furniture is clean, comfortable and in good condition. The glass topped dining table has four chairs.
The bedrooms are small, with one having a king size bed while the other bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king sized bed. They are typical of Europe, being very firm as are the pillows. The bathrooms are very clean and modern although the water pressure in the front bathroom is weak. The apartment size stacked washer/dryer appear to be new.
The kitchen is well equipped and full meals can be cooked but there is not much counter space. It worked well for making coffee and toast, which is all we used it for.
Problems or Bonuses
No real surprises although we were pleasantly surprised how bright and welcoming the sitting area was. Everything was as promised.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
We initially had trouble getting contact with Cristina to make the reservation but thereafter everything went smoothly. She responded to our questions promptly and professionally. The website is very accurate in its depiction of the apartment. The cost, in cash, for five nights was €800.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
We would definitely recommend this apartment to others and would gladly stay here again. As with all apartment rentals, there is no "hand holding" or help with reservations or directions after you check in.
Things to do in this area
Loved the pastries from Forno Campo dei Fiori as well as the cheese, salami and wine from the shop on the Campo. Our favorite restaurant in the area was Nonna Betta in the Jewish Ghetto, which is a short walk from the apartment.
