2bed/2bath sleeps 6, Rome WhenJune 20 -23, 2003, 3 nights LocationThis apartment was right down the street from the Colosseum on Via S. Giovanni de Laterano. The outside of the building was nothing to look at, but the apartment was stellar!! It was right across the street from the Basillica San Clemente and there was a bus stop just several doors down. Nearby AmenitiesThere were many, many local restuarants and cafes right on the same street and every type of store needed to furnish food or supplies for the apartment. The House/ApartmentThere were several other apartments in the building, but this was on the first floor. The outside of the building is old, but in good shape. There is a locked access door on the street requiring key entry plus an intercomm system to the apartment at the street door. GardenThe apartment had a small balcony with a clothesline attached and it was private. No pool, but not needed. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in perfect shape and new. There was a kitchen table to seat 4 and A/C. The kitchenette had all new appliances and was fuly equipped. The apartment was immaculate when we arrived and every amenity had been furnished. Way more then expected and absolutely delightful. Bedrooms/BathroomsEach bedroom had a "matrimonial" (queen size) bed and they were extremely comfortable. The were two bathrooms each with a shower. Although one was very small, they were both fine for average size folks. Each bathroom was also in excellent shape. KitchenThe kitchen was fully equipped with new appliances and a dream to cook in and work with, including an espresso coffeemaker with all condiments needed. The owner had even supplied cookies to eat!! Problems or BonusesMajor good surprises!!! The owner made us feel like part of the family and even supplied maps, tourist guides, restaurant recommendations (one being the finest local restaurant we have ever eaten in - The Monti) and a cell phone for access!!! The linens were all new and more then needed for the stay. Agency and Representatives (and price)The folks at Bed & Breakfast Association of Rome were extremely helpful and gracious. The apartment is much better then advertised and the whole experience was wonderful! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? There is no way we can adequately express how great our rental experience was. The apartment and the owner was more then we ever dreamed possible and we highly recommend to anyone going to Rome for more than a day to make use of Bed & Breakfast Association of Rome's services. They are a top notch organization!! Things to do in this areaRoma is Roma! What a place! The best restaurant we have ever enjoyed while on vacation was during this trip. It is the Monti. Just a hop, skip and jump from S. Marie Magiorre in the Monti area. It is a very small, cozy establishment catering mostly to Romans, but what a fabulous treasure!!
