2bed/2bath in Verona, Veneto WhenJuly 2003, 1 week LocationThe building is on a busy street a few blocks from a bridge leading to the old city. It is in a residential/commercial area. The apartment faces the courtyard and back of building, so it is relatively quiet. It is a ten-minute walk to the Arena. Buses to all parts of the city stop outside the front door. Nearby AmenitiesShops (grocery, fruit store, pasta shop (check out La Casa di Raviolo)) are all within a few blocks. Many restaurants nearby. The House/ApartmentOld building, appeared to be recently renovated and modernized. Modern elevator. Very clean and bright. GardenThe private terrace is a special feature. It overlooks the city's rooftops and surrounding hills, though not the river. One has to request that the patio umbrella be brought out of storage; without it, the terrace gets too hot to use during the day in the summer. Terrace has wooden table and 4 chairs. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in very good shape. The apartment was sparkling clean, especially the bathrooms -- we have never, ever, rented a property that was so clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe 2 bedrooms are on a lower level, one with a matrimonial/double bed, and the other with one single bed. They opened onto a large terrace shared with the apartment next door. Both bathrooms are very modern. One has a shower stall, the other has a bath with no overhead shower. KitchenVery well equipped kitchen, just large enough for 2 people to work. Problems or BonusesA great location, especially for the opera at the Arena. Parking was even more complicated than we'd imagined, and the owner called around to help us find a garage in the neighborhood, which worked out well. Agency and Representatives (and price)Owner was extremely helpful and friendly, and speaks Italian and French. Her adult daughter speaks a little English. Agency was very responsive to our requests, there were no surprises. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would stay here again without hesitation.
