2bed/1bath townhouse near Campo de' Fiori, Rome WhenNovember 2002, 1 month LocationThis was one of 2 units in a 14th Century building in a small courtyard very close to Campo dei Fiori in Rome's center. The location was quiet and private yet very close to Piazza Navona, the Vatican, Campo dei Fiori, Trastevere, the Ghetto - we walked everywhere easily. Nearby the best shops and places to eat in Rome. Nearby Amenities2 minute walk to Campo dei Fiori - the best outdoor market in Rome. Minutes to great places to eat. The House/ApartmentThe building was a 14th Century building that was completely remodeled inside with all of the modern Italian comforts. It was immaculately clean! One other apartment in the building but it was not occupied. GardenSmall balcony off the living room - lots of herbs and plants growing there. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe place was spotless and was cleaned several times per week. Everything was in perfect working order and very comfortable. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was very new and just perfectly firm with high quality bedding. There was one bathroom - big enough for 2 people to get ready. KitchenWe spent a month in Rome mainly so we could shop at the market at Campo dei Fiori and cook. The kitchen was great - well stocked, plenty of counters and high quality cookware. We had many great meals at home. Problems or BonusesWe were amazed at how friendly the neighbors were - we still keep in touch with several of them. We also didn't expect frequent cleaning of our space - that was a treat. Agency and Representatives (and price)The service was great and his English was perfect. They sent a car to meet us at the airport and we were brought directly to our apartment and met by the housekeeper and the rental agent, shown around and given several sets of keys. Actually, the place was much nicer in real life than on the website - we were very happy there! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Absolutely highly recommend the apartment and Roman Reference. We are going back to Rome for 2 weeks next month and wanted to rent the same place but unfortunately it was already booked. But Roman Reference has plenty of nice apartments available so we are all set. Things to do in this areaSo many places - hard to list them all - great eats at Baffetto near Piazza Navona, Paieo also near PN, and Orbitoreo in Trastevere. The best coffee is at Cafe Farnese just off Campo dei Fiori (be sure to say ciao Angelo - the owner). This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
