2bed/2bath apartment in Amalfi, Campania WhenSept. 18-25, 2003, 1 week LocationWe stayed in the town of Amalfi. We wanted to be on the Amalfi coast, but were traveling with a toddler, so needed a space that didn't have too many steps. Appartamento Giulietta had 30 or so steps, which were quite a bit, but probably much less than any else we could have stayed in town. We enjoyed being in town where there were lots of shops and restaurants. We didn't have seaside view, but that was because we opted to have as few steps as possible. We would highly recommend the agency Summer in Italy and our experience was very good. Nearby AmenitiesWe were just 30 steps away from restaurants, groceries, shops. The House/ApartmentNot a historical building. It was in very good shape and very clean. GardenNo outside sitting area, although a couple of small balconies. It was a private apartment. No pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture was beautiful and comfortable. There were definitely enough chairs for everyone, and the apartment was extremely clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds were comfortable and nice, and there were 2 bathrooms. Bathrooms were in very good shape and very clean. KitchenUsable kitchen. Definitely enough to cook up meals. We enjoyed using the kitchen. Problems or BonusesThe 30 or steps were a bit much, but we figured it was the best we could get in the Amalfi area. Agency and Representatives (and price)Very well. Accurately portrayed. Summer in Italy people were extremely helpful. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? If I went back, I'd go without a toddler and I would stay in Positano with a seaside view. For our purposes - and limitations, this place was perfect for us. If someone asked where they could stay in Amalfi with a toddler, I would highly recommend this apartment, although even the 30 steps were a bit much. Things to do in this areaRestaurant Teatro was lovely - good food, family owned restaurant, very close to the Appartamento. The Duomo is just a minute away. We took the bus to Positano and Ravello - fabulous! The piazza in Amalfi was also nice. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
