5bed/5bath house near Montepulciano, Tuscany South WhenSept. 27th-Oct. 4th, 2003, 1 week LocationLocated about 15 minutes outside Montepulciano in a country setting with a panoramic view over the hills and the city. Very quiet and tranquil. Sat on the terraza and just enjoyed the experience. Perfect location of many day trips. Absolutely a perfect location in ALL respects! Nearby AmenitiesNice area to walk in, but stores and restaurants are 15 minutes away. However, for wine lovers, Montipulciano is one of the most accessible towns for tasting wine and the villa is also close to a number of other wine areas. The House/ApartmentThe house was a 4 level, 5 bedroom home with 2 kitchens. Originally was set up as a B&B. Very well kept. GardenNice, very large pool with deck chairs. Two large patios, but there were small decks all over the house. Beautiful views from everywhere. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasVery good quality furnishings. Plenty of dishes and silverware for the 10 of us. Dining table easily sat us all and we might have been able to seat 2-4 extra ... we didn't try. Very roomy. If there is a fault, it is a bit spread out with bedrooms on 3 levels. Bedrooms/BathroomsBedrooms were very large. Each with king size bed and private bath. All were equal quality, so no couple felt cheated. KitchenKitchen was a bit spread out and not the easiest to cook in, but we fixed meals 5 nights and had one meal cooked by a local chef ... a great experience. No spices available, so bring your own or plan to buy. Plenty of utensils although a good knife would be a BIG help. Problems or BonusesZak, our contact for the rental, called the 2nd day to make sure all was well. An impressive touch! Agency and Representatives (and price)Could not give a higher reccomendation for their service. They sent maps and even a phone card so we could call to make arrangements to check in. Refund check arrived promptly. All was as promised. A ***** experience! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Without question! Things to do in this areaMontepulciano is close to Siena, Montalcino, Cortona, Assisi, etc. It lends itself to mutiple day trips and areas to explore. Winetasting, eating, hiking ... just about whatever Tuscany has to offer is at your doorstep. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
