For $380 a week, given the beautiful setting and the brilliant and fun Rebecca, the innkeeper, this place is a must. If you're afraid of chickens or don't want to stay on a working farm, then it's not for you, but we loved it. We got fresh eggs, little gifts from Rebecca such as homemade bread and wine; and one can pick fresh lettuce and vegetables right from the garden (we'd forgotten what fresh tasted like).

It's about a 10 minute drive, if that, from Assisi, so it's well located, utterly quiet (and the roosters don't crow). Our room was spotless and newly done, with nice towels, gas range, refrigerator, tv, everything you'd want, in excellent simple taste. We had fun shopping and cooking dinners at home, and we saved a bundle doing that.

Very convenient for visiting all the Umbrian towns. The road to the place is supposed to be paved by next year (now it's pretty rough but we got used to it--and it's not nearly as forbidding as the detailed instructions describe it)! If there were a six-star rating we'd give it to Brigolante, even if only for Rebecca's delightful personality!
