Review 745: Owner, Villetta Mimma Vittoria

Review by dxwest from CA

2bed/2bath house in Gioia Tauro, Calabria

November 2003, 7 days

All I have to say is WOW. For my first trip to Italy this was quite an experience. The owner was very helpful actually more then that. Every detail was addressed. From the moment we stepped off the train we were met by the keyholder, a relative of the owner. Through out the week different family members would drop by just to see how we were.

The people of Gioia Tauro were warm, friendly, and very interesting to talk to if we could manage. The villetta was very tastefully decorated and there were a lot of nice extras.

The rain shower, fully functional kitchen, and lots of windows and sky lights. We toured other cities while in Calabria and by the end of the week when we would arrive back in Gioia Tauro it felt like home. It feels like the "real" Italian destination. Rome and Venice were nice, but I'd go back to Gioia Tauro in a heart beat. Thank you for a lovely trip.
