5bed/3bath villa near Frascati, Lazio WhenMarch 2001 and March 2003, One Week ReviewOur first trip to Italy was at Casale Sonnino. Friends of our family highly recommended the place. We were so happy with the accommodations that we returned two years later for another stay. It is a quaint Italian villa built on top of an ancient Roman house complete with underground caverns. Our bedroom overlooked the vineyard and olive trees. We could not ask for a better, out of the way place, to simply hangout and have fun. It was also convenient to the train station and we went to Rome on several days. It was also close to the AutoStrada which made it easy for us to visit the many interesting places. Casale Sonnino had a huge living room and fireplace where we would gather in the evening to have a glass, or two, of wine and talk. The owners are very accommodating and took care of our every need. They also had meal preparation and laundry service for a very nominal charge. (The first time in my life I ever had my underwear ironed.) All in all, it is a great place to be and hopefully in the future we can have a family reunion there. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
