3bed/2bath apartment in historic center, Rome WhenDecember - February 2003-2004, 10 weeks LocationWe rented a penthouse on Via Nationale from Mario and Sylvia at Italy Weekly Rentals. It was magnificent. We had a terrace to view the fireworks on New Year's Eve, a fully equiped kitchen, and a huge apartment. Nearby AmenitiesWalked 5 minutes to the grocery store. Good Siciilian deli five minutes away. Pharmacy below the apartment. All of the shopping one needs within a 10 minute radius. The House/ApartmentThe apartment was on the top floor of a 6 or 7 story building. The building was non-descript but very safe. Elevator worked. Location, location, location. GardenThe terrace overlooks almost all of Rome. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurnishings were electic but fine. There are enough chairs and the apartment was clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe beds were very comfortable and the apartment is quiet for sleeping. KitchenCooked fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies for Christmas Dinner. Anyone who cooks knows that the kitchen was well-equipped! Agency and Representatives (and price)I cannot recommend the Esposito's of Italy Weekly Rentals enough. They made our trip to Italy simply wonderful. They arranged for five different rentals for our family of four over a three month period and we were very happy with every one of them. We saw parts of Italy that we would not have seen and had singular experiences that we would not have had were it not for the guidance of Mario and Sylvia. I would not travel to Italy again without their guidance and advice. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I loved the apartment in Rome. It is not perfect. The owner can be less than helpful but Italy Weekly Rentals responded to our every need so we talked to them instead of the owner. The owner's son speaks fluent English and was very helpful. Things to do in this areaWalking distance to everywhere in Rome. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
