Review 851: Classic Vacation Rental, Fonte de Medici

Review by Leslie from TN

apartments on an estate near Montefiridolfi, Tuscany Chianti

April 2004, one week

Staying at Fonte de Medici in the Chianti hills of Tuscany was exactly what I had envisioned for my trip to Italy. I wanted a place in the hills away from the city with magnificent views, but I also wanted the convenience of being close to Florence. This place was just right. While I will admit my rental car had a little difficulty getting up the last hill to my renovated farmhouse in the vineyard, it was worth it for the views. The staff was helpful and the included breakfast buffet had ample selections for any traveler.

One surprise was that we were not aware that the one-site restaurant had closed. It was my understanding that it would re-open for peak season, but you'll want to check anyway. Go to the web site and you can see every accommodation in detail. I highly recommend this vacation site. It is so convenient to the Florence-Siena highway that you can get anywhere you want in almost no time.
