Review

Sometimes wonderful places are found on the internet. This rental was one of them. Located in the tiny hamlet of Monticchiello, between Pienza and Montepulciano, this fully restored apartment has everything I expected and then some. Typical stone construction with cotto floors and beamed ceilings, warm and welcoming. Comfortable queen bed, new bathroom with shower, and fully equipped kitchen. The crowning glory is the large private stone terrace overlooking an olive grove and small vineyard with views to Pienza.

Upstairs, also available is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with private garden. Italian owners helpful and welcoming. Town has a great trattoria at the gate (open late) and is close to all the great hilltowns and the spa town of Bagno Vignoni. Reasonably priced.
