1bed/1bath apartment, Florence WhenJanuary 1998, 2 weeks ReviewThis review concerns Vacanza Bella and the apartment rental on Borgo San Jacopo in Florence. We rented the apartment for a two week period in January 1998. The apartment was exactly as described by the owner of Vacanza Bella, Daniel Morneau. The property is located on the first street on the Pitti Palace side of the Arno very close to the Ponte Vecchio. It satisfied our desire to be in the "center of things" in Florence including being within walking distance of the train and bus stations for outside-Florence travels. The apartment is located on the fourth floor at the rear of the building so that the sitting room opens up to a great view of Florence, the Arno and the bridges. The apartment was occupied by my son, a close friend of ours and me. My son and I occupied twin beds in the bedroom and our friend slept on the sofa bed in the sitting room (and he said quite comfortably). The bathroom was adequate with the typical Italian hand shower in the tub. The kitchen was extremely small and would not do if extensive cooking was desired. Finally, a word about Daniel Morneau. I have dealt with several rental agencies for properties in England and Ireland but mostly in Italy. We've not had any major problems with any, however without question dealing with Daniel Morneau was the best. Daniel is quite blunt and truthful (in our experience) with providing all the details, pro and con, of the properties he offered. I found this to be refreshing and very helpful. Another advantage in dealing with Daniel is that he has visited all the properties he offers so can give first-hand impressions and knowledge. Review Update, November 2002: Ron wrote to say that this apartment is available for rent again and he has booked it for next year and will send a review.
