Apartments on a farm near Assisi, Umbria WhenJune 2004, one week LocationThe Brigolante Guest Apartments are located just 6 kilometers from Assisi and within the Mount Subasio Regional Park. In order to get to the apartment it is necessary to drive on the outskirts of Assisi, which is a beautiful town in the mountainside. The apartment is completely modern and yet it has lovely charm. The windows are big and you can look out at the beautiful countryside surrounding it. Every morning we woke up to the birds chirping. There is a big jacuzzi tub in the apartment, which my husband and I loved after our days of walking up hills and on cobblestone streets. The owners were very hospitable to us too! When we first arrived we discovered home grown vegetables, homemade wine and honey in our apartment. Later in the week, we received fresh mozzerella cheese and homemade pasta! The wife, Rebecca, is a native English speaker, so this was helpful too. It was a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere and we would gladly return to visit again. Nearby AmenitiesYou must drive. Assisi is only minutes away though. The House/ApartmentIt is a stone building that is historical and has been renovated. It was in excellent shape. There are only two apartments in the building. One upstairs and one downstairs. GardenYes. There are lounge chairs and also a picnic table and chairs. It is shared. There is no pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture is in good shape. The apartment is spic and span clean and also has a washer and a dryer. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bedroom is a nice size and the very large bathroom is attached to it, with a jacuzzi. KitchenYes the kitchen is just fine. It has the basic items to cook basic meals in it. We did cook dinner almost every evening. Problems or BonusesThere were pleasant surprises in that the wife who runs this business is very warm and friendly and she gave us lots of delicious foods to eat! Agency and Representatives (and price)We paid 390 Euro for the week. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes, I would recommend this place to my friends. Things to do in this areaVisit mountainside towns such as Assisi and Perugia. Florence is only 2 hours away, so we made a day trip of it.
