1bed apartment in Trastevere, Rome WhenMay 5 - 14, 2004, 9 nights LocationWe requested an apartment in Trastevere from Romepower.com. Marco Agretti from Romepower found us a very reasonably priced apartment facing the river. The apartment had nice light and was clean. We enjoyed the view of the river and the fresh air. We felt very much at home there. The neighborhood is quiet even though the area is lively. We ate at local restaurants and especially liked the pizza on Via Del Moro. We were in walking distance to the Vatican and enjoyed walking to visit additional museums and sites in Rome. Nearby AmenitiesIn the morning we stopped for a cappucino on the corner of our street. There was also a grocery store downstairs where we would buy fresh bread, cheese and meat to snack on for lunch. On the same street further down, was a restaurant we loved and went back a few times. The food was very fresh and homemade and the service was extremely friendly. The House/ApartmentThe building was a few hundred years old, but kept very well. There were two apartments per floor and five floors. GardenThere was not an outside garden that I saw. We probably would not spend time sitting in the garden if there was one because we enjoyed walking around the city. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThere were very comfortable furnishings in the house. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was very comfortable and we only need the one bathroom for the two of us. KitchenThe kitchen was well equiped and clean. However, we never cooked a full meal at home because we enjoyed dinner in the restaruants. Problems or BonusesWe booked a very inexpensive apartment with Romepower. When we arrived, they said there were problems with the apartment and placed us in a much better apartment at the same cost. Agency and Representatives (and price)We felt that Marco and Alexander at Romepower treated us with respect and wanted to ensure we would have a most enjoyable vacation. They spoke English very well. They greeted us when we arrived. Through Romepower, we ordered a car to pick us up at the airport and we arrived at the office easily. Our apartment was about $140 per night. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would love to stay at this apartment again. We felt very much at home in the apartment and I highly recommend it. Things to do in this areaWalk, walk walk!!! Vatican nearby. Inexpensive shopping from street vendors. I bought many scarfs. We never had a bad meal in our area. We can't wait to return to Rome. It was truly a wonderful vacation. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
