I love Europe and above all Italy. I generally make my own arrangements and travel alone. For me, the planning (particularly since the Internet) is half the fun. I also enjoy the challenge of traveling in Italy by myself. Other than that, I am sane.

Trip Reports

Report 1911: Travels in Sicily and Southern Italy: In the spring of 2011, Linda spent a week in Sicily visiting Trapani, Palermo and Catania, and a week in southern Italy, including the fascinating city of Matera, home of the 'sassi', cave dwellings used until the 1950's.

Report 1195: Ten Days in Eastern Sicily: Ten days in eastern Sicily in Sept 2003, including three days in Taormina and a week hiking Sicily with Exodus while staying at an agritourismo outside Toarmina. Includes a trip to Etna.

Report 1097: A Week Exploring Sicily: Spring 2003, a week in Sicily which was part of a longer trip to Sicily, Ischia, Umbria, and Venice.

Other European Countries

Report 1004: Cycling in Belgium and The Netherlands, Sept 10 - Sept 17 2005 Cycling trip from Brussels to Amsterdam, cycling from a barge ... a wonderful trip.

Report 1581: Athens and Islands of the Dodecanese - 2008, From Sept 15 - Oct 22 2008 I traveled in Greece and Turkey. I spent the first three weeks in Greece. Much of that time I was on a walking holiday, "Greek Island Hopping", with Ramblers, a walking company from the UK. Part of the time I traveled independently.

Report 1595: The Turquoise Coast, Cappadocia and Istanbul, 2008, After spending three weeks walking and sightseeing in the Greek islands (Trip Report 1581), I continued to Turkey and spent a week walking the Turquoise Coast with a group from HF Holidays. After that, I traveled independently to amazing Cappadocia and then to Istanbul.

Report 1908: Two Weeks Walking on Malta and Gozo, In March of 2011, I spent two weeks walking with groups from HF Holidays. The first week we walked on Malta and the second week on Gozo.

Report 1960: Walking in the Dubrovnik Area with Ramblers, I spent a week walking in and around Dubrovnik, Croatia with Ramblers and also an evening in Paris.

North America

Report 1815: San Juan, Puerto Rico with Cathy and Katelyn, Spring 2010. Katelyn, Cathy and I spent three wonderful days enjoying San Juan.

Report 1696: New York for Three, July 19-24, 2009. My daughter-in-law, granddaughter and I spend five days in the New York City area (two on Long Island and three in the city)

Report 1362: Our Big Trip, My daughter-in-law, granddaughter, grandson, and I traveled in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, and Wyoming, visiting nine National Parks. My son joined us for the last two weeks of the trip. Five days of the trip were spent kayaking and camping with O.A.R.S. Cathy, Erik, Katelyn and I visited (in order) Arches, Mesa Verde, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks.

Report 2048: The Beautiful Turks and Caicos, My son Dave and his family and I spent a week enjoying sun, sand, water and snorkeling on the Turks and Caicos.

United Kingdom

Report 1735: Walking in Great Britain: England, Wales and Scotland, 2009, In Sept 2009, I spent almost five weeks in England, Scotland and Wales. Three of the weeks were spent walking.
