Cabo San Lucas: Casa Dorada

Luxury resort on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. Easy walk to town, marina, shops. Friendly staff--just DODGE the condo timeshare hawkers!

We stayed here for our son's wedding (ceremony held at a private beach, not at this resort).

Upon arrival, we were upgraded from a junior suite to ocean front (5th floor) one-bedroom suite with 2 covered terraces, king-size bed, kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, living room, 2 TVs.

This was the cleanest hotel that I've ever seen! The suite was indeed luxurious and well-equipped. Slept well. The sound-proofing is amazing given the bar on the beaches in front of the resort can be loud.

The staff was friendly--always cheerful and helpful. The food from the poolside bar at lunch was fresh and good (had the grilled veggie wrap) and often 2-for-1 drink specials. We walked to dine at other restaurants in Cabo (The Office, Mi Casa, Pancho's).

DOWNSIDE: the condo timeshare people are a pain. Just be firm and walk on. You'll get this everywhere in Cabo, from vendors to other timeshares. It is not unique to the resort.

WiFi is $14 per day. That's our only complaint about Casa Dorada.
