Neat and clean hotel in a great location.

This is a remodeled 1652 building into a bed and breakfast type hotel. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, the red light district is a block away, Dam Square, trolley lines, etc., two blocks.

I choose it for the good central location to everything and trolley lines without having them under your window. It's located on a canal with numerous eateries and outdoor cafes within short distance, as well as 10 minute walk to the main shopping areas. Central Station is within walking distance, as is most everything.

The hotel is quirky and has two floors serviced by elevator. Being hundreds of years old it has many of the things you would expect of an older building: some floors slightly uneven, wonderful old tiles on the walls, beds in the wall. Rooms all have canal view.

Some rooms are not serviced by elevator and are up quite steep old fashioned spiral stairs so be aware. If you need elevator be sure to ask.

Rooms, neat, clean some with great deep tubs and showers and some with showers only, simple, clean and casual. TV, two free internet computers available with printer (small fee for printing), traditional Dutch breakfast, great hosts and wonderful people.
