I spent two nights in the small a beautiful cobblestoned town of Brugge in Belgium as a day trip from Amsterdam in November 2010.

I found this hotel by using the Venere link. It is listed as a 4 star hotel and I thought it was very deserving of this rating. The hotel is located in a very central location in the historic city centre of Bruges very close to Market Square and within walking distance to the towns major sights and beautiful canals.

I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful with directions and in providing recommendations for great places to eat. There is a fabulous Italian restaurant right across from the hotel where I enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The hotel rate that I paid was 102 euros per night, which included an excellent breakfast buffet that had a great selection ranging from eggs to cereals, cold cuts and fresh fruit.

The room was very clean with a 19th century style decor. The furniture was new and in excellent condition. Their bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds that I have slept in during all my travels in Europe. The bathrooms were especially clean and there was even a shower and a separate bath (in different rooms) which I thought was really cool. I was concerned when reading the reviews that some of the rooms faced a youth hostel across the street and was a bit noisy and although my room faced the street I found it pretty quiet. In fact, I didn't hear my neighbors to the side or above me at all.

There is a lift and free wi-fi. I took a taxi from the train station to the hotel which only cost 7 euros so it is not too far from the train station. You also have the option of taking the bus that drops you in Market Square and the hotel is only 5 minute walk from there.

If I were to return to Brugge I would definitely stay in this hotel again and I would also highly recommend it to others.
