Small, family owned hotel, very central location, great breakfast, wonderful staff, roof terrace, quiet area.

I stayed at this hotel with 2 friends for a week. It is a gem. Traditional Istanbul architecture, family owned, only 17 rooms. For two persons in a room, the standard rooms might be a bit small, I would go for one of the larger rooms. The family running the hotel is exceedingly friendly and helpful, and fluent in English. They make you feel welcome from the moment you step inside the door. They can arrange for pickup from and return to the airport, and any other help that you need. The hotel is very clean. I was thinking when I was in the bathroom by the breakfast room, that "this is so clean one could eat from the floor"! Great breakfast buffet. Wonderful roof terrace where you can have wine and snacks, with great views of the Bosphorus and the Blue Mosque, both nearby.

The hotel is in a small quiet street with little traffic, but every wonderful sight worth to see in Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi palace, Cistern, Turkish bath...) is just a short walk away, as well as lots of restaurants, shops and a small bazaar.

The hotel has contact with a quality agency for guided tours, which will also arrange private sight-seeings. We had one day private sight-seeing for the Asian side; very much worth the cost.
