This good-sized B&B was a great overnight stop. It certainly left us wanting more. It is across the small river from the old center of Garmisch – an easy walk. From its windows, you can see the breathtaking snow covered Bavarian Alps of this border town. The rooms were large and comfortable, and coupled with a copious Alpine breakfast, a true bargain. We found it friendly and comfortable. Our large room (number 5) had a nice table and built in benches, as well as a balcony overlooking a yard, and the stunning mountain view. Our friends enjoyed room 12, which had a comfortable sitting room, with daybed and table, in addition to a good sized bedroom. That room would have been perfect for a family. The street is full of lovely Alpine residences, most of them private. You feel as though you are in a neighborhood. The quietness was interrupted in early morning by cows with clanging bells being herded down a nearby street – a noisy but charming way to start my day.
