Mayan Palace is an RCI resort hotel

We were guests of members of an RCI time-share at the Mayan Palace. This hotel is a resort located approximately 20 miles north of Puerto Vallarta.

The master suites have 1 bedroom with a queen bed and separate living room and kitchen. There are 5 restaurants on the property and several snack bars with pool and ocean side refreshment service. There is a grocery store on the resort property, however, the prices are as much as 5 times the rate than the local Walmart in Puerto Vallarta.

Restaurants in Puerta Vallarta are worth the cab ride into town for true Mexican cuisine - be prepared to pay 15-20 dollars each way. Romas is next to the river and the open air market and a great place to sip $1 beer on the gallery overlooking the river. They also have a webcam and free internet access for all customers.

If you take an excusion, try the zip line canopy tour - awesome experience for the adverturesome individual. Tequilla tours are abundant and the prices for third generation tequilla are a 1/3 of US prices - great deals!

When visiting Mexico be prepared to tip every person who performs even the smallest task or even smiles at you.
