Pleasant hotel on the banks of the Mekong River. Beautiful views at reasonable rates.

Located near the Friendship Bridge into PDR of Laos.

The deluxe rooms (and dining room) have fabulous views of the Mekong River and the Friendship Bridge and Laos. The rate is 800 baht (about US$20) for a spacious, a/c room with TV modern western style bath and refrigerator/mini-bar. An American breakfast is an additional 100 baht (US$2.50) but also includes a Thai brakfast of rice porridge with pork (chilis to taste), called "jow" and fruit.

There is an outside restaurant, open flame BBQ and beer garden for passing away a nice evening. The staff stays out of your hair unless you need them.

I recommend this hotel for a short stay as a base for entering Laos (visas are available in town) to Vientiane or to the Indochina (Tha Sadet) market in Nong Khai next to the ferry docks.

The hotel is probably classified 2 1/2 to 3 stars.

Plenty of free parking.
