Design hotel in the heart of Copenhagen. Nearby nightclub makes sleeping difficult.

I find staying at a non-descript hotel rather depressing so I was excited by the idea of staying at a design hotel in Copenhagen. As far as the style elements go, the Square Hotel did not disappoint.

The hotel is perfectly situated within a short walking distance to the central train station and to many of the major attractions. This, however, also meant that we encountered "interesting" urban elements right outside of the property.

I have read many online reviews complaining about their service (or the lack thereof) but we were happy with both the front staff and housekeeping. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had in Europe; their bread station convinced me that Denmark makes the best bread in the world right alongside France.

We love Copenhagen and are planning many return visits but we will most likely skip the Square for our next visit due to the noise from a nearby nightclub. It kept me awake till 3:00 a.m. every night. At the end, undisturbed sleep is more important to travelers than a lobby that could make a cover story for Architectural Digest.
