I travelled to Lagos Nigeria to attend a friend's wedding. I had heard many worrying stories about life in Lagos... e.g., its poor security, aggressive place and numerous blackouts. Luckily the hotel was very close to the airport and had armed police officers at the perimeter ... hence this resolved the security issue. Its a luxurious 4-star hotel with my room rate at only $150/night. My friends stayed at the Protea and Sheraton hotels and they both paid excess of $400/night. The hotel was new and they had lots of facilities and things to do. I spent most of my free-time by the pool, sunbathing and swimming... it also was cool to be able to play tennis. Luckily for me, the wedding was held at the centre. The hotel can be described in one word... beautiful. I wish I had pictures. I will not say this hotel changed my perception of Lagos but it allowed me to really relax and have a great time and forget where I was for the few days I was there.
