My first steak dinner in Buenos Aires was here and steak has never been the same.

Directions: It is in the San Telmo area of Buenos Aires near Plaza Dorrego.

This is an old steak house but that is not what you find inside. When I first entered I found bright lighting, all the tables were layout in an elegant style and the restaurant played tango music softly in the background. Even the waiters were dressed in a uniform. I notice I was the only tourist here and that was good sign as the Portenos know were to have a good meal.

I glanced at the menu because I was only interested in one thing to eat here, that was steak. So I ordered Bife De Lomo, a bottle of Malbac wine and a salad.

The Malbac was excellent and I wished I wrote down the name. Something simple like the salad as my first course was excellent at this restaurant.

I order my steak to be cooked medium and my waiter made sure it was cooked the way I like it. He stood at my table until I was happy with it. When I first cut into my steak it was on the rare side and my waiter took my steak away to be cook some more. As I was eating this excellent steak, savoring every bite, I realized steak was never going to be the same again when I return home to New York City. The quality of steaks would be compared to quality of steak I was eating at Parrilla 1880.

For dessert I had panqueque de dulce de leche along with a lemon chilled liqueur and ended my dinner with a double espresso. I needed the kick of the espresso since I finished off a whole bottle of Malbac by myself.

I found the service excellent and the meal outstanding and very inexpensive. The meal cost around $25 US dollars.

I will definitely eat here again when I visit Buenos Aires. Matter of fact if I lived in Buenos Aires I think I would be a regularly here.
