Review 1361: Owner, Westraat 6

Review by srice_53098 from Germany

3bed apartment in Domburg, on the North Sea, Germany

Westraat 6, photo by Sarah Rice

April 2004, one week

The apartment at Westraat 6 was located on a lovely little street in a beachtown of Domburg located on the North Sea. What a fabulous getaway. We were greeted by the friendly owner, Krijn, who showed us around the apartment.

You walk up a flight of stairs to the main floor where there is a large living room, dining room, bathroom, bedroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen. On the next level (via a very steep and narrow flight of stairs) are two additional bedrooms. I cannot recall if there is an additional bathroom upstairs or not. This apartment is within 200 meters of the North Sea and within walking distance of MANY shops and restaurants. Park the car and enjoy! Liked it so much that we plan to return this summer.

100 m2 / 3 bed / max 5 persons

Nearby Amenities

Within walking distance of a grocery store that has EVERYTHING, many many great restaurants (several types), several cafes, and places to grab counter food (including fresh seafood) and an ice cream cone.

The House/Apartment

You will hear street noise during the day but it is mostly quiet at night as all of the shops close down around 6pm, I think. The apartment stands alone and next door the owner's family run an internet cafe/jewelry shop. The apartment was in good shape and well-kept.

No outside sitting area, however, the property behind this one (also owned by Krijn) had a little sitting area/garden which is great for kids.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture in good shape, could be more comfortable, definitely clean.

All was suitable and met our needs.

The kitchen was GREAT! Had everything you could need for cooking meals.

Problems or Bonuses

No problems or surprises.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Krijn was most-friendly and spoke good English. Got what we expected. They even provided a baby bed, highchair, and a portable bathtub for our young children.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would not hesitate to stay here again. The apartment is very suitable and spacious and best of all in a GREAT location in such a quaint beach town.

Things to do in this area

We made many visits to the beach (within 200m of the apartment). Took day trips to Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse, visited Zaanse Schans, drove to Delft one day and stayed there.
