1bed/1bath apartment near Cavtat, Croatia WhenJune 2006, Three Days ReviewOur party of six rented both units at Apartments Tomic (A&B) for three nights in June, 2006. We found them to be a comfortable, convenient, and inexpensive base for our brief visit to the Dubrovnik area. The building is located just outside Cavtat, a very pleasant and family-friendly town about 17km from Dubrovnik. Cavtat is about a 10 minute drive from the apartment building. We visited Cavtat every day and pretty much fell in love with the place. Cavtat has many restaurants, cafes, and shops, along with a nice market where vendors sold fruit and homemade wine and liquer. There's a marina and plenty of beach action, too. There's a large parking lot just outside the pedestrian-only center of town. The apartments are in a residential area just off the coastal highway, and can be reached by driving up a fairly steep hill. The immediate vicinity is not particularly picturesque, but the building does afford a pleasant view out to the Adriatic. The apartments were clean, comfortable, and very well-equipped. The kitchen was completely fitted out and included an American-style coffee maker, much to my delight. The bathroom was small but the shower functioned efficiently. Air conditioning and satellite TV systems both worked well. Our hosts, Nic and Ivanka, spoke passable English and were eager to please. There is a Kerum grocery store and a small trgovina/cafe within walking distance. The web site says Cavtat is walkable, but I don't agree; if you rent this unit, you'll definitely want to have a car. All in all, for €50 a night at the height of the season, Apartments Tomic are an affordable and comfortable option for visitors to the Dubrovnik region.
