Review 2444: Mirvac Hotels and Resorts, Sebel Residence
Apartments at Mirvac Hotel in East Perth Western Australia, Australia

The apartment is located on Claisebrook Cove in East Perth Western Australia. East Perth is a former industrial area that was successfully redeveloped into an up and coming area along the Swan River. The area is on the fringes of the central business district (CBD) of Perth. The cove is lined with condos and businesses which provide a relaxing city experience. The Sebel is located at one end of the cove with a gorgeous view.
There are many amenities near by. Below the apartments is the Royal bar/restaurant which has informal lunch and dinner. For breaky (breakfast) or coffee, Baa Baa Black Café is next door. There are also several other restaurants in the area and along the cove. Nearby in a small shopping area, is a convenience store, video rental store which allows guests of the Sebel to check out movies, a great wine store; Vintage Cellars and a small grocery store. The grocery store is somewhat limited so if you are planning on eating in, you might be better shopping in the CBD at the Woolworth’s.
It is easy to get to the CBD by the city bus or train. East Perth is within the free zone so you just hop on the CAT bus which stops just a short distance from the apartments and it is about 5-10 minutes by bus to the center of Perth. The train station is about a five-minute walk away and is two stops away to the main station. The train is included in the free zone.
The apartment is recently built. There are 57 units in the apartment building. It is very quiet other than bar noise from the Royal which has an outdoor terrace. You do hear it in the evening (6-9) if you have your balcony doors open.
The riverside apartments have a stunning view of cove. We spent every evening watching the sun set over the cove.
The apartment has a small balcony which has a table and chairs. There is shared use area which has a BBQ.
The apartment is clean and is serviced every three days. The décor is modern and the color scheme is black/aqua/grey with accents of green and orange. The furniture is in good shape. It is well furnished and well lit. The apartment has cable TV, DVD, and CD/Stereo.
The bedroom has with a king bed which is very comfy. It has a nice duvet and extra blankets but we didn’t need them. The bathroom is great and very modern with European fixtures. There is a walk-in glass–walled shower with a spa shower head. It feels like showering in a gentle rain. There is also a separate soaking tub and lots of space next to the sink.
Kitchen is well equipped. We didn’t cook dinner but it looked like it has enough pans to do a dinner. The appliances are European with a drawer dishwasher, cook top, oven, full sized refrigerator, and microwave. As most Australian accommodations, it comes with a French press coffee maker in addition to tea pot.
There is also a combo washer-dryer unit in the apartment hidden away in a closet in the entry way. There were very good instructions to help us figure out how to use the unit.
The free CAT buses do not run after 6pm. The other city buses and trains do run in the evening. There is no parking available and parking is difficult on the street. There is a pay city parking lot near by.
There are great walking paths starting at the cove that goes out along the Swan River.
We easily booked the apartment on the web. There is not a lot of detail on the website but the pictures on the website are accurate and give a good feeling of the one bedroom apartment. There are occasional web specials that will save a little bit on the room. The staff was very nice and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this apartment.
