1bed/1bath apartment in Victoria BC, Canada WhenOct 21 - Nov 4, 2006, 2 weeks LocationTrutch Manor is in Victoria - about 10 minutes walk to the inner harbor. Nearby AmenitiesIt is in a residential part of Victoria, close to Cook Village (a couple of blocks away) where there are grocery stores, pharmacy, florist, restaurants, bakery, coffee shops, etc. etc. There is also bus service close by. The House/ApartmentTrutch Manor is a historical building. It is a tourist suites: bed and breakfast during high season (April to October) and extended stays (no services provided) during low season. The owners offer six units: either studio with kitchen & private bath or a 1-bedroom with kitchen & private bath. There is a laundry room with coin-operated machines. Trutch Manor is a Victoria in wonderful shape and very clean. The owners do all the work. It is very quiet. We have rented the Parlour every year in the last six years for a week to three weeks in the fall. GardenThe front garden is being remodeled this winter and there is a back garden. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThere is ample furniture which are in great shape, comfortable and pleasing to look at. Our unit is always clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed is comfortable. The bathroom in the Parlour has a shower - good sized and great water pressure, lots of hot water. Towels are thick. KitchenI always cook and the kitchen is sufficient. We like to eat in. I even bake cookies while staying here. Problems or BonusesNever had any bad surprises. It feels like coming home whenever we stay here. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owners live in the building. Their website is accurate. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We highly recommend Trutch Manor. We always make our reservations for the following before we leave. Things to do in this areaWe like to walk and Victoria is a great walking city. It is very pedestrian and elderly friendly. We like walking along the water as well as just walking the various areas including Oak Bay. We like Bubbly Rose Bakery on Cook Street for our breads, Cook Village Wine Shop, and the small shops that lined Cook Street. For our major grocery shopping, we go to Thrifty's and have them deliver.
