Apartments in adjoining houses in Bayerisch Eisenstein, Germany

Location

In the Bavarian Forest village of Bayerisch Eisenstein, about 50 metres from the national park and five minutes walk from the Czech border. Surrounded by lovely forests and mountains with a superb view of the Arber mountain.

Nearby Amenities

A small grocery is within five minutes walk. The village also has numerous restaurants and some other shops. There are also numerous sporting facilities in the village (tennis, football, a substantial ski resort), and there are further smaller scale facilities on site (table tennis, small gym, sauna, pool table). Larger supermarkets (Real, Aldi, etc.) are about 10 minutes drive away in Zwiesel.

The House/Apartment

The accommodation was wholly refurbished about three years ago and is in excellent condition. It is very peaceful and quiet. We rented a 3bed/3bath apartment.

Garden

Two private balconies and a private garden. No pool.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

A very high standard of cleanliness and comfort, with excellent quality furniture. Plenty of dining chairs and comfortable seating.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds are comfortable, but supplied only with duvets - which are of a given tog rating. So we alternated between being too hot (when covered) and too cold (when not). This is sadly typical of much accommodation these days. Each of the three bedrooms is en suite, and the bathrooms are well equipped and clean.

Kitchen

A good kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, oven, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine and adequate supply of utensils, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen is fine for cooking full meals.

No washing machine, though it was possible, at a charge, to give laundry to the owners.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owners are native English speakers and extremely friendly and helpful. An outstanding file of information about the apartment and local information is provided. The website description of the property is accurate.
