Review 503: Jubo Reizen, #1040 Opalice

Review by Natalie from Italy

apartments in Opalice near Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

2003, 1 week

The Czech Republic is in the Center of Europe. It is one of the most progressive East European Countries. The Czech Republic is bordered by Germany on West - Poland on Northeast - Slovkia on Southeast - Austria on the South - It is famous for its mineral spas and it is inhabited by a friendly and welcoming people. The holiday house is situated in Opalice about 15km from Cesky Krumlov.

Cesky Krumlov: Situated on the banks of the Vltava river, the town was built around a 13th- century castle with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. It is an outstanding example of a small central European medieval town whose architectural heritage has remained intact thanks to its peaceful evolution over more than five centuries.

I suggest also a daytrip to Holašovice: Holašovice is an exceptionally complete and well-preserved example of a traditional central European village. It has a large number of outstanding 18th- and 19th-century vernacular buildings in a style known as South Bohemian folk Baroque, and preserves a ground plan dating from the Middle Ages.

Nearby Amenities

This house is situated in a rural area and therefore it is possible to buy fresh eggs from the neighbouring farms as well as fruits, if these are ripe. We had to drive to the groceries and restaurants and supermarkets.

The House/Apartment

The building is a beautiful farmhouse with a very nice garden for the children. There is a playground area with a wing in the garden and an indoor pool (9,5m - 5m).

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The house consists of 3 apartments. You have to book them all, if you want to book the house. We liked that we had a lot of privacy. There was only our extended family group.

Apartment 1: living room with a sitting corner and sattelite TV, a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower and a toilet. Two bedrooms with two beds in each of them.

Apartment 2: living room with sitting corner, SAT-TV, 2 bedrooms with two beds in each of them, kitchen, bathroom with a shower, toilet and the third apartment was just like the second.

We liked the table tennis area and the possibility to rent mountainbikes. We had to inform the owner about the number of mountainbikes that we wanted to rent in advance and the bikes awaited us on arrival.

Number of bedrooms: 6

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Ask for Mrs. Rebecca Polakova at the agency. She speaks English and will help you.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would recommend this vacation rental to everyone who enjoys a stay in an unspoiled rural area, especially for people, who are like us travelling with young children. I will rent this house again for a week in September.

Things to do in this area

There are open air concerts in front of the castle of Cesky Krumlov, you could rent canoes at Cesky Krumlov, enjoy your garden, go for long walks, ride the mountain bikes and dicover the beauty of the area. In the nearby towns Ceske Budejovice and Cesky Krumlov you will find restaurants, shops and also some tourists. In Opalice you can enjoy a quiet stay and discover the rural Czech Republic.
